Barker scores key softball win over Roy-Hart

Defending champion Barker stayed in the chase to claim at least a share of the league title by downing front-running Roy-Hart 3-0 in a key Niagara-Orleans softball contest this afternoon at Middleport.
Madyson Flint hurled the shutout win for Barker.
Roy-Hart, which has already clinched at least a share of the N-O title finishes the league campaign at 10-2
Barker improves to 9-2 and now needs a win over Wilson in a make-up game on Wednesday to claim a share of the crown.
Madyson Flint registered a shutout in the circle for Barker as she scattered 4 hits and struck out 11.
Barker scored the only run they needed as it turned out in the first inning as Kaylee Stoll doubled and came home on a ground out off the bat of Lexi Brazzell.
The Lady Bulldogs added one insurance run in the third inning on a single by Brazzell and another in the fourth on a double by Alina Riches.
Albion 5, Akron 1
Albion topped Akron 5-1 to finish the N-O season at 7-5.
Winning pitcher Alana Irvine and Kenzi Snook both banged out triples and Rori Higgins and Aubrielle Barry both had a pair of hits to lead the offense for Albion.
Irvine scattered 5 hits in the circle.
Wilson 19, Medina 3
Wilson improved to 8-3 in N-O action with a 19-3 win over Medina (0-11) as Riley Robinson pitched a 2 hitter with 6 strikeouts.
Northstar 4, Kendall 2
In a non league game, Northstar downed Kendall 4-2.
