Albion posts softball win over Elba
Scoring three quick runs in the first inning, Albion went on to defeat Elba 8-1 in a non league softball game Monday.
A two-run home run by Lux Froman and an RBI by Cami London on a fielders choice play quickly put the Purple Eagles on top to stay. A single by Aubriella Barry and a walk set up the threat.
The Purple Eagles later put a lock on the win with five runs in the fifth inning highlighted by an RBI triple by winning pitcher Alana Irvine and an RBI double by Barry. A bunt by Rori Higgins also plated two runs and a single by Leah Pawlak drove in the other.
Barry, Froman and Pawlak each finished with a pair of hits.
Irvine registered 7 strikeouts in the circle.
Maddie Hall had an RBI double in the fifth inning for Elba and Brea Smith had 8 strikeouts in the circle.
