Mustangs surge past Blue Devils

Trailing 1-0, Medina rallied for big back-to-back scoring innings to down Batavia 7-1 in a non league baseball game at Vets Park this afternoon.
Medina rallied into the lead for good at 3-1 by scoring three times in the fourth inning on an error and a two-run double by Preston Woodworth. An error, a walk and a hit batter set up the threat.
Keeping the momentum, the Mustangs upped the advantage over the Blue Devils to 7-1 by scoring four times in the fifth frame on a wild pitch, an RBI single by winning pitcher Brody Fry, a sacrifice fly by Preston Woodworth and a steal of home. An error, a single by Vinny Gray and a walk set up the opportunity.
Fry allowed 4 hits with 4 strikeouts in 6 innings of work on the mound.
Now at 3-0, Medina next hosts Depew in a non league game at 7 p.m. Friday at Vets Park.
