GCC to host N-O vs. G-R Girls Basketball Challenge series this weekend
Genesee Community College will host the annual Niagara-Orleans League vs. Genesee Region League Girls Basketball Challenge on Friday and Saturday.
Medina will open Friday’s tripleheader by taking on Wheatland-Chili at 5:30 p.m. followed by Wilson vs. Pembroke at 7 p.m. and Akron vs. Oakfield-Alabama at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday’s quadrupleheader will begin with Barker vs. Holley at 2:30 p.m. followed by Albion vs. Kendall at 4:15 p.m., Roy-Hart vs. Byron-Bergen at 6 p.m. and Newfane vs. Elba at 7:45 p.m.
The Albion vs. Kendall contest is a rematch of an early season game at the Kendall Tournament which saw the Purple Eagles edge the host Eagles 40-37.
The N-O vs. G-R Boys Challenge was held recently at SUNY Niagara with the N-O winning 6 of the 7 games.
