In a sea-saw down to the wire thriller, Lyndonville nipped host Alexander 36-35 in a Genesee Region League wrestling match this evening.

Trailing 35-33, Lyndonville pulled out the narrow victory on a 10-7 decision win by Greyson Romano (215) in the final bout.

Lyndonville had jumped out to as much as a 27-12 lead after a pin by Michael Alexander, an overtime decision win by Ty Holmes and three forfeit wins.

However, Alexander answered with a pin, a technical fall win and a forfeit to rally into a 29-27 lead.

Lyndonville regained what proved to be a brief 33-29 lead on a first period pin by Jesus Rosario-Reyes but Alexander answered right back with a pin to regain a 35-33 lead.

That set the stage for the Tigers dramatic decision win by Romano in the final bout to earn the victory.

Byron-Bergen 38, Holley-Kendall 31
Trailing 31-17, host Byron-Bergen rallied to take the final four bouts on pins by Parker Moore (138) and Roman Smith (160), a decision win by Brendin Galves (152) and a forfeit to down Holley-Kendall 38-31 in the other G-R match.

Holley had pins by Hunter Jewell-Smith (285) and Jayden Rivera (101) along with a major decision win by Isaac Bartlett (108), a decision win by Hunter Pachia (116) and two forfeits to build up the 31-17 advantage.
