Big second quarter keys Purple Eagles win

A huge second quarter scoring surge keyed Albion to a 77-46 win over visiting Barker in a Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball game this evening.

Leading 17-13 after the opening period, Albion put together a 31-9 second period scoring explosion to race away to a commanding 48-22 halftime advantage. Nate Gibson scored 10, Wesley Olles 8 and Isaiah Riley 6 to lead that uprising.

Gibson finished with 20, Olles 13, Riley and Kyle Radder 9 each, Tyler Cody and Luke Bell 8 each, Jaylen Daniel 4, Josh Schoeberlein 3 and Peyton Robinson 2.

Isaac Monaco scored 15, Donovan Hefferon 9 and Carson Schwab 5 to lead Barker.

Albion is now 2-1 and Barker 1-3 in N-O competition.

Wilson 40, Newfane 28
Wilson improved to 2-1 in N-O action by posting a 40-28 win over rival Newfane which slips to 0-3.
