Purple Eagles post win over Panthers
Albion evened its Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball record at 1-1 by downing defending co-champion Newfane 53-48 this evening at Newfane.
Nate Gibson scored 13 to lead Albion’s balanced attack as Tyler Cody and Wesley Olles both tallied 12 and Kyle Radder 11.
Akron 74, Barker 48
Defending co-champion Akron improved to 2-0 in N-O action with a 74-48 win over Barker.
Blake Gerstung scored 24, including seven threes, to lead the way for Akron as Ben Gerstung added 14 and Derren Brooks 9.
Logan Murrell scored 17, Owen Harris 14 and Anthony Taliaferro 11 for Barker.

Newfane 52, Albion 42
Anna Chunco scored 17 and Kameryn Boyer 14 to lead Newfane past Albion 52-42. The Lady Panthers had a total of 25 steals.
Kenzi Snook scored 10, Melia Prince 9 and Julia Knight and Cami London 8 each for Albion.
Akron 54, Barker 30
Elise Monaco scored 12 and Jordan Kinne 10 for Barker in the 54-30 loss to Akron.
