Falling just short in her bid to earn an LGA Tour card, Medina’s Melanie Green has qualified to compete on the Epson Women’s Professional Golf Tour next season.

A tough opening round proved to be too much to overcome for Green at the LPGA’s Q Series Final Qualifying Stage which concluded Tuesday at Mobile Alabama.

Green finished the challenging five round 90 hole stage with a 1 under par total of 357 which missed the cutoff line for earning an LPGA card by 5 shots.

She opened with a round of 79 and improved a bit to a 74 on the second round.

Rebounding, she then fired rounds of 66 and 68 to make the cut for the decisive final round. By making the cut she earned a spot to compete on the Epson Tour.

She finished with a round of 70 but came up five shots from earning an LPGA card which went to the top 25 finishers.
