Roaring out to a commanding 36-0 half-time advantage, defending champion Pembroke went on to down Holley 52-16 in the Section V 8 Man Division football playoff championship game this evening at Pittsford Sutherland High School.

Holley though did mount the first big threat of the game. Highlighted by two pass completions from quarterback Destin Kuyal to Mason Moyer, the Hawks put together a nine minute long drive with the opening kickoff which ended up stalling out on downs at the Pembroke 7.

However, it then took only 50 seconds for the game’s momentum to switch 180 degrees. Pembroke went the length of the field as  two carries by Caleb Felski covered the 93 yards for a touchdown igniting the Dragons offense.

Felski tacked on four more touchdowns in the half which ended with Pembroke in command 36-0. Interceptions set up two of those scores. The Dragons had two other touchdowns called back by penalties during that stretch.

Trailing 44-0, Holley broke onto the scoreboard late in the third quarter on a 17 yard touchdown run by Hunter Jewell-Smith. Kuyal added the two-point conversion pass to Jacob Pitcher.

The Hawks other touchdown came on a 10 yard run by Kuyal midway through the fourth quarter as Jewell-Smith added the two-point conversion run.

The Dragons advance to the regional with a 10-0 record while the Hawks finish the season at 6-4.
