Special Empire 8 honor for Medina grad
Medina High graduate and Utica University junior field hockey player Dakota Alexander has received the Empire 8 Conference’s Sportswomen of the Year Award for Utica.
Alexander, a three-year defender for Utica, started all 16 games logging over 1,000 minutes in helping to anchor the Pioneer defense.
A Psychology, Law Justice and Society major, this was her last season with the Pioneer field hockey team as she is graduating early.
During her scholastic days at Medina, she earned first team Niagara-Orleans League honors as a defender her senior year.
