Lady Tiger spikers win sectional opener
An overtime win in the opening set sparked No. 8 Lyndonville to a 26-24, 25-18, 23-25, 25-21 victory over No. 9 Hammondsport in the opening round of the Section V Class D2 volleyball tournament this evening at Pavilion.
The Lady Tigers now advance to a quarterfinal match at top seeded Avoca-Prattburgh on Friday.
Leading the way for Lyndonville were Leah Kenyon with 1 dig, 2 blocks, Hannah Fox with 1 ace, 2 kills, 10 assists, and 2 digs. Alyssa Prine with 2 aces, 3 digs. Addie Dillenbeck with 6 kills, 4 digs. Emily Dill with 1 ace, 1 assist. Madi Davis with 1 ace, 3 kills, 2 digs. Hannah Marker with 1 kill. Olivia Belgiorno with 1 ace, 2 digs.
In Class D1, No. 8 Bradford-Dundee downed No. 9 Kendall in three sets and in Class C1 No. 3 HAC bested No. 14 Holley in three sets.
