Albion Beginners Division team captures title

The Albion youth football Beginners Division team edged Batavia 7-0 Saturday in the Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) playoff championship game held at Albion.

Hudson Palmer’s 21 yard touchdown run and extra point conversion in the 4th quarter provided the only score of the game in a great defensive battle.

Palmer finished with 38 yards rushing, Kenny Almonte with 36 yards, Elijah Cornick 7 and Gunner Jackson 6 yards.

Xavier Weis, Cornick and Palmer each had 5 tackles. Arlen Beecher, Patrick Westlund and Almonte each had 4 tackles and a fumble recovery. Jai’heem Drisdom had 2 tackles. Jaxon Francis had a tackle and forced a fumble.

Albion finishes the season 9-0.

Mini Division
LeRoy 19, Albion 14

Jayce Torres finished the day with 154 yards and 2 touchdown runs of 13 and 60 yards. Cayden Farrell finished with 10 yards rushing, 34 yards passing and 2 PAT’s. Greyson Roberts had 22 receiving and Elian Almonte 12 receiving.

Kyle Schomske and Harrison Froman led the Mini Eagles defense with 12 tackles each. Kairo Bennett was in on 11 tackles, Torres 10, Jai’Kaih Drisdom 9, Moses Taylor 6, Farrell 5, Almonte 5, Elijah Warren 4, Roberts 2, Parker Gardner and Zacery Rice 1 each.

Albion finishes the season 9-1.

JV Division
Albion falls to Leroy.

Camden Holt had the lone score for the JV Eagles. Jace DiMatteo  passed to Lincoln Voorhees for the PAT. Heyden Almonte finished with 63 yards rushing. Carter Farrell 40 yards. Jace DiMatteo had 55 yards passing. Almonte had 18 receiving, Holt 15, Voorhees 11 yards and Olles 10.

Colton Moreland led the defense with 8 tackles. Holt 7, Farrell, Liam Pearl and Roman Allport 4 each. Almonte, Olles and Landon Farrell 3 each. Parker McDaniel, Hank Aina, Gavin O’Brocta, Liam Saporito, DiMatteo,Mason Rotthoff and Kolton Berry were each in on tackles.

Albion finishes 9-1.
