Holley, Kendall and Roy-Hart girls score sectional quarterfinal round victories

Holley, Kendall and Roy-Hart all scored victories this evening in the quarterfinal round of the girls soccer sectional playoffs.

No. 5 seed Holley nipped host No. 4 Red Creek 1-0 in the Section V Class C1 quarterfinals.

Carsyn Mogel scored the lone goal for the Lady Hawks off an assist from Alivia Wolf.

Jayda Shampine made 3 saves in goal as Holley improves to 13-4-1.

Holley will next face top seeded Williamson in the semifinals on Tuesday. Williamson downed No. 8 East Rochester 1-0.

Top seeded Kendall downed No. 9 Oakfield-Alabama/Elba 4-0 in a Section V Class C2 quarterfinal as Stella Kwiatek had 2 goals and Sophia Picardo and Ava LaMay 1 each. Picardo also had 2 assists and Izzy D’Agostino 1.

Brooke Rodas earned the shutout in goal as the Lady Eagles improve to 17-1.

Kendall will next face No. 5 Cal-Mum in the semifinals on Tuesday. Cal-Mum edged No. 4 Warsaw 1-0.

No. 3 seed Roy-Hart downed visiting No. 11 Newfane 6-1 in a Section VI Class B quarterfinal as Kaitlin Mettler scored 3 goals as Maria Trombley, Kaylie Churchill and Nina Santos each netted 1.

In a Section VI Class C quarterfinal No. 3 Wilson downed No. 6 Chautauqua Lake 2-1.

Albion and Lyndonville bow

No. 6 seed Albion dropped a 3-1 decision to No. 3 I-Prep in a Section VI Class A2 quarterfinal this afternoon at All High Stadium in Buffalo.

David Rosario scored the Albion goal off an assist from Joey Bropst.

No. 10 seed Lyndonville was downed 6-1 by No. 2 Naples in a Section V Class D quarterfinal at Naples.

Jesus Rosario-Reyes scored the Lyndonville goal.
