Lyndonville dropped a narrow 4-3 decision to host Lockport 2 Saturday in a Lockport Midget ‘A’ League game.

Breaking away from a 1-1 deadlock, Lyndonville scored twice in the top of the decisive sixth inning on doubles by Matt Riemer and AJ Buckland and a single by Trevor Bentley for a 3-1 lead.

However, Lockport 2 answered right back with three runs in the home half of the frame, ignited by a double by Pat Flaherty, to take a 4-3 lead and the win.

Lyndonville did get the bases loaded with two outs in the seventh on singles by Evan Pappalardo, Jacob Hoffee and a walk but could not score.

Hoffee had 3 hits on the night for Lyndonville which is now 1-1.

Flaherty also picked up the win on the mound registering 14 strikeouts.

Lyndonville next visits Orchard Park on Thursday.
