Albion youth football teams improve to 6-0
Albion’s three youth football teams scored wins over Pembroke Saturday to improve to 6-0 on the season in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) competition.
Beginner Division
Four different players had touchdown runs for Albion. Hudson Palmer and Kenny Almonteeach had 2 as Patrick Westlund and Elijah Cornick added 1 each. Palmer finished with 147 yards, Almonte 128,Cornick 60 and Westlund 52. Lexington Pridgen 16 yards and Royce Rotthoff 9.
Almonte led the defense with 8 tackles and a sack. Arlen Beecher and Westlund 6 tackles, Cornick 4, Jai’heem Drisdom 5, Rotthoff and Xavier Weis 3 each, Jaxon Francis and Drake Neri 2 each. Azekiel Gomez, Lucas Rotthoff and Palmer all in on tackles as well.
Mini Division
Jayce Torres had a big day on the ground for the Eagles, finishing with 165 yards and 3 touchdowns. Elian Almonte added 96 yards Cayden Farrell 38 and both had a score, Kyle Schomske 14 and Moses Taylor 10 yards. Farrell also connected on a TD pass with Almonte. Greyson Roberts threw a conversion to Zacery Rice. Taylor ran one in.
For the Eagles defense, Taylor, Farrell and Schomske all had interceptions. Kairo Bennett 11 tackles, Harrison Froman 8 tackles with a sack, Farrell 7, Isaac Button 6, Schomske 5, Torres and Taylor 3 each. Jai’Kaih Drisdom and Elijah Warren each in on tackles.
JV Division
Carter Farrell got creative and took the opening kickoff back 65 yards for a touchdown the Eagles never looked back.
Jace DiMatteo had 4 TD passes to Ethan Olles, Camden Holt, Giovanni LaMartina and Heyden Almonte. Lincoln Voorhees added a 50 yard TD to Connor Hinckley. Colton Moreland has 126 yards and a score, Almonte 100 with a TD, Farrell 53 with 2 scores, Holt added a 38 yard TD. Mason Rotthoff and Roman Allport picked up 5 yards each.
Allport led the defense with 5 tackles, Moreland and Hinckley 4 each, Olles and Isaac Fiesch, Farrell 3 each. Liam Saporito, Holt, LaMartina, Gavin O’Brocta, Kolton Berry 2 each. Cooper Traxler, Brady Graham, Landon Farrell, Parker McDaniels, Matthew Colmerero, Remi Ebbs, Liam Pearl and Hank Aina all in on tackles.
Albion travels to Newfane next week for games at 1,3 and 5pm.
