G-R golfers share top Section V honors
Genesee Region League rivals Evan Gaesser of Kendall and Matt Genaway of Alexander shared top honors today at the Section V state qualifier golf tournament.
Gaesser, who repeated as Class C champion on Saturday, shot a 78 today to finish the two-day competition in a tie for first with Genaway at 149.
The two now advance to the state championships as members of the Section V team. It will be Gaesser’s third trip to the states.
Tennis
Medina’s Kristian Snyder lost to Yash Nasheshwari of Lew-Port 6-1, 7-6 today in the Section VI singles tournament.
In the doubles competition, the Albion duo of Josh Metzler and Dylan Bader lost 6-1, 6-2 to the Amherst team of Toni Greco and Liam Sullivan.
