In a seesaw battle, the Medina U14 Fillies dropped a narrow 10-9 decision to host Evans Saturday in a Metro Girls Softball League game.

Setting the tone for the evening, the teams traded runs in the first two innings. Ashlee Howell scored for Medina in the first inning off a single by Lacey Kenward. Camri King then scored in the second frame on a hit by Brooklyn Brown and both times Evans answered right back with a run.

Tessa Boyce and Brandi Guild both scored for the Fillies in the top of the third but again Evans answered, this time with three runs.

The Fillies tacked on two more runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to hold a slender 9-7 lead.

However, Evans rallied for three in the home half of the sixth for what proved to be the margin of victory.

The Fillies did threaten in the seventh but left the tying run stranded at third base.

The Fillies close out the regular season this evening at the WNY Rally.
