Medina and Akron score field hockey wins

Scoring in every quarter, Medina posted a 6-1 victory over Newfane in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game at Vets Park this morning.

Medina grabbed a 2-0 half-time advantage as Jenelle Stalker scored in the first quarter and Emi Batista in the second.

The Mustangs then broke the contest open with three unanswered goals in the third quarter including two by Penelope Schalck and one by Stalker.

Schalck competed her hat-trick with a fourth quarter goal to round of the Medina scoring.

Nattalie Johnson scored for Newfane in the fourth quarter.

Medina is now 1-1 and Newfane 1-3 in N-O action.

Akron 3, Roy-Hart 0
Front-running defending champion Akron improved to 4-0 with a 3-0 win over host Roy-Hart which slips to 1-1.

Julia Klodzinski, Mackenzie Tomporowski and Ava Lombard each scored a goal for Akron. Klodzinski and Ava Fox both had an assist.

Wilson 3, Kenmore 1
Wilson evened its N-O record at 2-2 with a 3-1 win over Kenmore (0-3) as Reese Kepner, Clara Ferdinand and Ruby Narehood each scored a goal.
