Since moving into the C North Division in 2020 Medina has captured the championship every year as the Mustangs have gone 20-0 in the division over that four year span.

Medina will open defense of the C North title when the Mustangs face Roy-Hart/Barker at 7 p.m. Friday in the debut game on Barker’s new artificial turf field.

The other C North openers will have Akron at Tonawanda on Friday and Alden at Maritime on Saturday. In interdivisional contests, Newfane will host rival Wilson this evening and Cleveland Hill will visit Franklinville/Ellicotville on Saturday.

Alden, Maritime and Tonawanda are newcomers to what is now an 8 team C North Division. They replace Eden and JFK from last year’s 7 team C North. Eden is now in the C South Division and JFK is not fielding a varsity team this season.

Albion will open its first season of B3 Division competition at Olean at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Purple Eagles, which played in the B2 Division last fall, are competing in what is now an 8 team B3 Division.

The other B3 openers on Friday will have Depew at Dunkirk and Lackawanna at Lew-Port. An interdivisional game will have Springville at Lake Shore on Friday and an intersectional contest will have Maryvale vs. Tioga from Section IV at Syracuse on Saturday.

Holley will open Section V 8 Man Division competition at Bolivar-Richburg at 7 p.m. Friday.
