Making it seven wins in a row, the Medina Mustangs FC rallied past the host Celtic Brigade 3-1 Sunday to lock up the Buffalo District Soccer League 2nd Division regular season championship.

Trailing 1-0, Medina rallied for two goals late in the first half to key the win.

The Mustangs tied the game on a goal by Ryan Laruffa off a corner kick by Casey Winiecki.

Trent Jones then netted what proved to be the game winner as he stole the ball and scored on a breakaway.

Medina got an insurance goal late in the second half by Greg Husung off a pass from Kyan Mathieu.

Now at 8-2, Medina will close out the regular season with another game against the Celtic Brigade next Sunday at Kenmore West.

The title season is the second in a row for the Mustangs which last summer captured the 3rd Division playoff championship which earned the team a promotion to the 2nd Division.
