Puzzled over push to make prostitution legal

Are New York residents aware of this? By the end of the June 6 session, some of our elected legislators in Albany are trying to push through legalization of prostitution in our state.
Why doesn’t our New York State radical-left governor, Hochel, stop such legislation to further demoralize NY?
I honestly do not understand!
