Wilson, Albion cagers top N-O All-League girls basketball squad
Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Albion’s Justice Nauden has been named to the first team of the Niagara-Orleans All-League girls basketball squad.
All five starters from champion Wilson and runner-up Albion have earned spots on the annual Niagara-Orleans All-League girls basketball squad.
Wilson, which captured a fifth straight N-O title with a 14-0 record, has placed seniors Emily Lasher and Dana Smith on the first team. Senior Allie Bubar has been named to the second team as seniors Emily Kam and Kaylee Stoelting both received honorable mention.
Albion, which finished in the runner-up spot at 11-3, is represented by on the first team by junior Justice Nauden and on the second team by sophomore Kelsee Soule and freshman Chanyce Powell. Juniors Mandy Covis and Sarah Metzler both received honorable mention.
Rounding out the first team are juniors Brooke Horning from Newfane and Mia Jones from CSAT.
The second team also includes Barker sophomore Caitlyn Mason and CSAT senior Inez Sullivan.
The honorable mention selections also include Medina senior Taylor Miller, Barker seniors Olivia Denny and Julia Atwater, Akron seniors Gina Henley and Tobie Abrams, Newfane senior Marlo MacFarlane, CSAT junior Jordan Frasier along with senior Becky Harnish and juniors Taylor Fry and Kendra Hill from Roy-Hart.
Lasher, a repeat first team honoree, scored 249 points on the season (13.1 average) and had 142 rebounds, 91 steals, 84 assists and 20 blocks.
Smith had 186 points (9.7 ave.), 145 rebounds, 52 assists, 50 blocks and 46 steals.

Nauden had 214 points (11.2 ave.), 99 rebounds, 74 assists and 66 steals.
Horning scored 214 points (11.2 ave.) and had 65 rebounds, 66 steals and 45 assists.
Jones led CSAT with 237 points (12.4 ave.) and also had 125 rebounds.
Powell led Albion in scoring with 229 points (12.0 ave.) and on the boards with 169 rebounds. She also had 51 steals, 45 assists and 17 blocks.
Soule, who missed several games early in the season due to an injury, scored 165 points (11.7 ave.) and added 115 rebounds, 38 assists and 26 steals.
Bubar had 151 points (7.9 ave.), 125 rebounds, 85 steals and 73 assists.
Mason scored 168 points (9.3 ave.) and also had 88 rebounds, 64 steals and 19 assists.
Sullivan had 200 points (10.5 ave.) and grabbed off 107 rebounds.
