Mustang stickmen tame Lions
Snapping a four game losing streak, Medina defeated host Lockport 15-11 this afternoon in a non league lacrosse game.
Kyle Barna scored a season high seven goals to spearhead the Medina attack. Tyler Valley and Brett Pecoraro both netted two goals as Andrew Wigley, Aaron Feltz, Greg Husung and Jake Cotter each chipped in with one.
Trailing 2-1, Medina rallied into the lead for good by outscoring Lockport 6-2 in the second quarter.
Barna had two goals and Wigley, Pecoraro, Husung and Valley one each during that key stretch as the Mustangs rallied into a 7-4 lead at the half.
The Mustangs upped the advantage to 13-6 by outscoring the Lions 6-2 in the third period.
Barna netted four goals, including the last three in a row, to spearhead that uprising which also included goals by Valley and Cotter.
Now at 3-5, Medina next visits Wilson in another non league contest at 1 p.m. Saturday.
