Big weekend for Holley-Kendall wrestler
Contributed Photo – It was a big weekend for Holley-Kendall wrestler Hunter Jewell-Smith who earned a trip to the upcoming state championships which will be held in Albany on February 23-24. A junior, Jewell-Smith placed second at 285 lbs. to win the Section V D2 championship. Shown here in action during the sectional competition, Jewell-Smith opened the competition with three straight pins to advance to the finals where he dropped a 6-3 decision. Rebounding, he posted a quick 58 second pin in the “True Second” match to earn second place honors and gain a spot in the state championships.
