Wind advisory in effect until 7 p.m. for Orleans, several counties

A wind advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. for Orleans County and much of western New York.

The winds won’t be as strong as on Tuesday, when gusts peaked at 70 miles per hour in parts of WNY.

Today there will be southwest winds from 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph, said the National Weather Service.

The advisory includes Orleans, Niagara, Monroe, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties.
