Albion swimmers score sweep over Akron

Albion swept to a doubleheader victory over visiting Akron in a Niagara-Orleans League swim meet this evening.

Improving to 4-1 the Purple Eagles won the boys’ meet 58-32 and the girls’ competition 54-39.

Matt Kania was an individual event double winner for the Albion boys in the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke as Mark Ames won the 200 Individual Medley, Finn McCue the 100 Butterfly and Mason Giattino the 500 Free

Kiera Sidari doubled in the IM and 100 Butterfly and Autumn Flugel in the 50 Free and 100 Free for the Albion girls as Willow Gaines took the Breaststroke.

In the other N-O meet Newfane downed visiting Medina winning the boys’ meet 78-77 and the girls’ 105-52.

Dylan Lamont doubled in the IM and 500 Free and Noah Kneeland in the Fly and Breaststroke to lead the Newfane boys.

Caiden Class won the 200 Free, Bryson Ford the 50 Free and Jackson Reese the Backstroke for Medina.

Kimberly Schmitt was a double winner for the Newfane girls in the Butterfly and Breaststroke.

Madeline Mark won the IM for Medina.
