Medina wrestlers post win over Akron
Building up as much as a 30 point lead, Medina went on to down visiting Akron 39-28 in a Niagara-Orleans League wrestling match this evening.
The Mustangs opened up a 36-6 lead after first period pins by the trio of Sawyer Kingsbury (285), Reece Senske (108) and Luke Duffina (124) along with three forfeit wins.
Akron though made the finish exciting by taking four of the final five bouts on a pin by Jacob Beideck (145), a major decision win by Christian Klonowski (152) and two forfeits but the Tigers could get no closer than the final 11 point margin.
A decision win by Brennan Allen (160) closed out Medina’s win.
Medina and Akron are now both 1-1 in N-O action.
