Newfane girls surge past visiting Albion
Pulling away in the third quarter, Newfane went on to post a 47-30 win over visiting Albion in a Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball game this evening.
Leading by a narrow 17-14 margin at the half, Newfane used a big 21-11 third period scoring edge, including five threes, to break the game open.
Mallory Schultz scored 13 and Anna Chunco 11 to lead Newfane while Madison Hughson scored 19, Julia Knight 6 and Kenzi Snook 5 for Albion.
In the other two N-O contests, Wilson defeated Roy-Hart 70-26 and Akron downed Barker 64-18.
Sloan Jonathan scored 15, Abby Gerstung 12 and Ashlee Henning 10 for Akron.
