Injured snowy owl gets assistance on Swett Road

YATES – Katlyn Moore, Orleans County Sheriff’s animal control officer, holds an injured snowy owl on Sweet Road in the Town of Yates on Tuesday morning.
She was dispatched to the site at 7:36 a.m. She discovered the owl in a field and it appeared to have a broken wing, Sheriff Chris Bourke said.
Moore hands the owl to DEC Officer Nathan Godson. He responded as well as Brandi from Little Critter Rescue. The snowy owl was transported to a vet for treatment, Bourke said.
