Medina has two champions at Lyndonville’s Fred Large Memorial Wrestling Tournament
Medina had a pair of champions crowned at Lyndonville’s annual Fred Large Memorial Wrestling Tournament today.
Reece Senske won at 108 lbs. and Brody Fry at 215 for the Mustangs.
Senske, who had a quick 50 second pin in the semifinals, decisioned Kaleb Beardsley from Pavilion/York 4-0 in the finals.
Fry, who advanced to the finals with two pins and a decision win, edged Dominic Fanaro from Warsaw 4-2 in his title match.
Medina also had Brennan Allen finish second at 160, Sawyer Kingsbury third at 215 and Austin Seefeldt fourth at 152.
Roy-Hart/Barker had a champion at 116 as Lucas Kimber nipped Thomas Crumpler from Niagara Falls 9-8 in the finals. He advanced to the finals with a pair of first period pins.
Joel Hickman (152) and Ronan Klug (170) both finished third and Luke Fay (131) fourth for Roy-Hart/Barker.
Holley-Kendall had Will Kruger (152) and Hunter Jewell-Smith (285) both finish second and Andrew Cole (124) fourth.
Host Lyndonville had Ty Holmes (124) and Sebastian Temich (190) both finish second and Justin Holmes (101) third.
In the girls competition, Holley/Kendall had Makayla Bentley (101) place second and Layla Rasmusson (116) and Leann Clay (124) third.
In the JV competition, Albion’s Jaxon Lynch took first at 138 while second place finishes were earned by Albion’s Wesley LeFrois (116), Lyndonville’s Chanse Amsdill (101) and Holley-Kendall’s Parker Denning (124).
The final varsity team standings had Medina finishing 5th, Roy-Hart/Barker 7th, Lyndonville 8th and Holley-Kendall 9th as Wayne Central took top honors.
