Kendall Eagles will face high scoring foe in semifinals
Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Kendall’s Justin Barrett and his Eagle teammates will face Keshequa Wednesday in the semifinals of the Section V Class C2 playoffs at Spencerport.
Undefeated (15-0-3) top seeded Kendall will take on high scoring No. 4 seed Keshequa in the semifinal round of the Section V Class C2 playoffs at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Spencerport.
“The one stat that jumps out at you with Keshequa is that they have scored 88 goals,” said Kendall Coach Brian Duffy. “That’s amazing and they don’t have just one guy doing all the scoring they have several scorers (5 with at least 9 goals) so we have to account for all of this fire power. Defense will definitely be a very big key. It will be an absolute battle.”
Keshequa, which brings a 16-2 record into the semis, has outscored its opposition 88-13.
Kendall likewise has allowed only 13 goals on the season while the Eagles have scored 65 goals.
Sophomore Jake Adams has 24 goals and 12 assists to lead the Kendall offense which also has Will Condo with 11 goals and 8 assists, Riley Iqbal ( 6 goals, 13 assists), Mookie Nauden (6 goals, 4 assists), Justin Barrett (4 goals, 5 assists), Skyler Heller (4 goals, 1 assist) and Cody Travis (3 goals, 5 assists), all are seniors.
Kendall blanked No. 8 Marion 2-0 and Keshequa nipped No. 5 Honeoye 2-1 in the quarterfinals.
The Kendall/Keshequa winner will face the winner of the other semi matching No. 3 Bishop Kearney against No. 1 Wheatland-Chili in the Class C2 finals on Saturday.
