Holley, Kendall split in track
Staying perfect at 7-0, Kendall defeated host Holley 76-65 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League girls track meet.
Holley gained a split on the day with Kendall by winning the boys meet 92-49.
Holley also defeated Wheatland-Chili 74-67 in the boys meet and 108-31 in the girls competition.
The Kendall girls were led by triple winner Maya Rutland, who won the 100 (:12.8), 400 (1:02) and high jump (4-8) and double winner Taylor Rutland who took the 200 (:26.7) and long jump (16-8.5).
The Lady Eagles also had Tania Arellano win the triple jump (31-6), Jamie Smith the discus (87-3) and Jenna Jacob the 100 hurdles (:17.6).
The Kendall girls will next host undefeated (7-0) Byron-Bergen on Wednesday in a key regular season ending battle for the G-R title.
Emily Radford was a double winner for Holley in the 1500 (5:23.7) and 3000 (12:21.6).
The Lady Hawks also had Nicole Blackburn take the 400 hurdles (1:12.6) and Paige Whittier the shot-put (28-5).
The Holley boys were led by a pair of individual event double winners as Martin Beadle took the 1600 (4:43.1) and 3200 (10:27.3) and Phil Haughton the long jump (19-1.25) and triple jump (38-10).
The Hawks also had Glenn Robb win the discus (102-9.5) and Dan Flanagan the pole vault (8-6).
Justin Hards was a double winner for Kendall in the 100 (:12.2) and 200 (:25.0).
