CSAT bests Lady Rams; Lyndonville gives Notre Dame a scare

Jumping out to a 14-0 lead at the outset, CSAT went on to defeat host Roy-Hart 47-34 this evening in the Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball season opener.

Jordan Fraiser scored 12 and Surenaty Davis-Paterson 10 set the pace for CSAT which led 16-7 after one period, 25-16 at the half and 36-21 at the three-quarter mark.

Emma Lindke took game high scoring honors for Roy-Hart with 17. Alex Hill added 8 and Taylor Fry, Sarah Bascom and Rielly Albee 3 each for the Lady Rams.

Notre Dame 39, Lyndonville 30
Turning back a fourth quarter challenge, Notre Dame trimmed upset minded Lyndonville 39-30 in a Genesee Region League game.

Trailing 31-19 at the three-quarter mark, Lyndonville rallied back to within four with two minutes to go in the final period but could not pull even. Rebekah Hoffee scored 7 points to lead the Lady Tigers rally.

“We played very well,” said Lyndonville Coach Barry Webber. Defensively we played real well. We’re gettinging there. I’m very proud of them.”

Morgan Hungerford scored 10 and Hoffee 7 to set the pace for Lynodnville as Aubrey Lewis added 5, Chelsea Poler 4 and Jasmine Plummer and Mackenzie Muck 2 each.

Shea Norton took game high honors with 13 for Notre Dame which led 9-3 after one period and 22-11 at the half.

Boys Basketball

Roy-Hart 58, CSAT 55
Roy-Hart rallied from a nine point half-time deficit to defeat the host CSAT Eagles 58-55 in a season opening N-O contest.

Andy Xapsos scored 6 points and Chris Anderson 4 to lead Roy-Hart in the decisive final period which also featured a pair of key defensive plays by Nelson Andrade and Justin Heschke.

Xapsos finished with 25 points and Heschke 12 for the Rams which are now 3-1 overall.
