Barker High senior Brooke Targus will continue her swimming and softball career at Cazenovia College this fall.

“Brooke was a returning veteran for our team in 2014. She was one of our captains and definitely our defensive leader on the field,” said Barker softball Coach Bill Moeller. “Brooke has a strong aptitude for the game of softball. She always knew what was going on and was a great communicator to the rest of her teammates. She spent time at both 2nd base as well as behind the plate for us. Her versatility allowed us to have a balanced defensive attack this was key to our success this year. Brooke was voted to the Honorable Mention All-League team this year.”

“Brooke swam varsity for four years and was captain her senior year,” said Barker Coach Mike Gendrue. “Brooke is a versatile swimmer who excelled in all strokes and especially the 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly, and the 200 individual medley. This year Brooke was team MVP.”

I am excited that Brooke will be attending Cazenovia College next year to play softball.” said Cazenovia College softball Coach Christopher Comino. “My assistant and I have a good feeling about Brooke and we feel she can help us out. She is going to have the opportunity to play right away here. She is a great kid and we feel she is going to help us take that step to the next level.”

“I am very excited to hear Brooke will be joining us next year. She is going to be a great addition to the tea,” said Cazenovia swim Coach William Houser. ” She is one of our top incoming freshman and with her times from High School will be our second best IMer and top butterflier.”
