Albion youth gridders score two wins at Tri-Town

Albion blanked host Tri-Town (Alexander) 35-0 Saturday in a key battle of 4-0 teams in the Mini Division of the Niagara Orleans Football Association.

Jacob Hughson had 171 yards rushing, including touchdown carries of 55 and 3 yards; Amari Jones 74 yards rushing, including 46 and 10 yard TD runs and Javon Jones 55 yards receiving including a 17 yard TD. Shakarion Drisdom added 34 yards rushing while Amari and Javon Jones had extra points.

On defense, Arami Jones had 6 tackles and a fumble recovery, Bryden McMurray 5 tackles, Javon Jones 4 and Hughson and Sh’kwe Riley 3 each.

JV Division

The Albion JV squad earned its first win by besting Tri-Town 51-13 as Elijah Lloyd had 154 yards rushing including touchdown carries of 44, 24, 16 and 6 yards; Anthony Freeman 53 rushing with a 1 yard TD; Jahmeek Riley 54 rushing with a 44 yard TD and Alex Gibson 60 rushing with a 39 yard TD carry and 57 receiving including a 15 yard TD catch from Freeman. Kyle Woolston added 49 yards receiving.

Defensively, Kobe Pugsley had 7 tackles, Jonathan Judd, Riley, William Freeman and Anthony Borrero 5 each. Judd also had 2 fumble recoveries.

Varsity Division

Tri-Town nipped Albion 25-19 in a battle of 4-0 teams.

Thomas Furmanski hooked up with Nate Moore for touchdown pass plays covering 54 and 33 yards. Moore also had 71 yards rushing including a 5 yard TD. Ugene Harrison added 34 yards rushing.

On defense, James Denoncourt made 7 tackles, Colton Howell 6 and Harrison 6.
