Albion girls edge past CSAT
Making it two wins in a row, Albion nipped host CSAT 6-5 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game.
Two runs in the sixth inning on a single by Ashlee Bocach and a sacrifice by Kelsee Soule provided the margin of victory for Albion which also tallied twice in the first and third frames. A single by Natalie DiCureia ignited the Purple Eagles key late scoring burst.
Kelsey Schmitt had four hits for Albion as Bocach added three and Savannah Allen two.
Kassidy Hastings picked up the win in the circle scattering six hits and striking out three.
The Purple Eagles defense capped off the victory in style by turning a game ending triple play from DiCureia at second to Olivia Prest at shortstop to Soule at catcher.
Albion is now 2-7 and CSAt 2-8.
Barker 13, Wilson 7
Kelsey Blackley had three hits, including a three-run homer, and Olivia Denny, Destinee Hillman and Erika Moeller two hits each to spark Barker past Wilson 13-7.
Becka Blasius had two hits for Wilson.
Barker is now 5-5 and Wilson 5-2.
Akron 8, Roy-Hart 7 (9)
Akron pushed across a run in the bottom of the ninth on a double, passed ball and fielders choice play to nip Roy-Hart 8-7.
Lindsay Yates had four hits, including a two-run single and an RBI triple, for Roy-Hart which also got three hits each from Kayla Brown and Madi Hiddie.
Akron is now 7-2 and Roy-Hart 6-2.
