Lady Hawks edge past rival Lady Eagles

A goal in each half earned Holley a narrow 2-1 win over rival Kendall in a Genesee Region League girls soccer game this evening at Kendall.

Jailyn Bishop scored in the first half and Sam Bates in the second for Holley. Natalie Foose and Bella Thom earned the assists.

Sophia Picardo scored in the second half for Kendall on a penalty kick which tied the game at 1-1.

Layne Walker made 3 saves in goal for Holley whose defense was anchored by Thom, Alivia Wolf and Leigha Walker.

Brooke Rodas made 16 saves in goal for Kendall.

In another G-R game, Byron-Bergen downed Lyndonville/Barker 6-1. Addie Dillenbeck had the lone goal for the Lady Tigers.

G-R Volleyball
Byron-Bergen rallied from an opening set loss to down Lyndonville 21-25, 25-16, 25-12, 25-19 in a G-R volleyball match.

Madison Davis had 5 kills, 2 aces and 10 digs; Ashlee Stephens 7 assists, 6 digs and 3 blocks; Katelynn Breeze 14 digs, 3 aces and 2 blocks; Jackie Mack 5 kills, 4 aces and 2 blocks and Alyssa Prine 7 digs for Lyndonville.

Holley’s Sam Bates works the ball up field ahead of Kendall’s Stella Kwiatek.
