Notre Dame cagers outlast Lyndonville

Barker posts win over Akron

Jumping out to a 33-19 first quarter lead, Notre Dame went on to defeat visiting Lyndonville 92-79 this evening in a free scoring Genesee Region League game.

Tyler Prospero scored 19 and Luca Zambito 15 to lead the way for Notre Dame which was up 57-43 at the half and 72-59 at the three-quarter mark.

Nick Hinkson took game high honors for Lyndonville with 21 as Eddie Schildt netted 17, Eric Neace 14, Corey Hydock 13, Hunter Ottaviano 4 and Zach Johnson 2.

Lyndonville is now 2-1 in the league and 4-2 overall.

Barker 43, Akron 34
Barker put together a big third period rally to defeat host Akron 43-34 this evening in the Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball season opener for the Raiders.

Trailing 21-17 at the half, Barker rallied to outscore Akron 14-6 in the decisive third period to key the victory.

Nate Luckman hit two threes to highlight that scoring burst which rallied the Raiders into a 31-27 advantage at the three-quarter mark.

Luckman finished with a total of 12 points, Eddie Wasnock 10, Jared Ginther 8 and Jake Arnold 6.

Owen Hill scored 13 and Gates Abrams 11 for Akron which slips to 0-3 in N-O action.

Oakfield-Alabama 65, Holley 39
Leading by a narrow 11-7 margin after one period, Oakfield-Alabama used a big 22-9 second quarter scoring burst to open up a 33-16 advantage at the half and key a 65-39 win over visiting Holley in a G-R League game.

Nick Passarell scored 14 and Dylan Hillabush 11 for Holley which next hosts Attica on Friday.
