Newfane girls set pace at N-O All-League swim meet
Regular season champion Newfane took first place in 7 of 11 events at the annual Niagara-Orleans League Girls Individual Swim Championships this evening at Newfane.
Lydia Gaughan doubled in the 200 freestyle (2:09.67) and 500 freestyle (5:50.37) events and Allie DeBiase took both the 200 individual medley (2:26.35) and 100 breaststroke (1:12.62) to lead the way for Newfane which also had Lauren Seymour win the 100 backstroke (1:11.39).
The Lady Panthers also won the meet opening 400 medley relay in 2:02.89 with the quartet of Seymour, DeBiase, Gaughran and Alexandria Martin and the meet closing 400 free relay in 4:05,78 with the foursome of Martin, Gaughan, DeBiase and Meghan Mietlicki.
Roy-Hart’s Lindsay Yates was a double winner in the 50 free (:26.88) and the 100 Free (:59.0) as her Channel Cats teammate Alex Hill captured the 100 butterfly (1:08.99).
Yates also teamed up with Hannah Rausch, Alivia Nocera and Sara Meal to give Roy-Hart a victory in the 200 free relay (1:53.31).
