Bruning earns first pro pitching victory
Roy-Hart and Niagara University graduate Jacob Bruning earned his first professional baseball victory on Tuesday.
Bruning, who is pitching for State College, Pa. in the MLB Draft League, picked up the win in the Spikes 14-3 victory at Trenton.
Notching strikes on 23 of his 38 pitches, Bruning faced only 9 batters in two and a third innings of work on the mound to gain the win. He allowed only 1 hit, struck out 2 and walked 1.
Bruning, who helped pitch and hit Roy-Hart to the state semifinals his senior year, went on to play four years at Niagara and finished his collegiate career at the University of South Alabama.
