Medina softball squad has new coach
With new Coach Amber Cleaveland at the helm, the Medina varsity softball squad is prepping for the April 9 Niagara-Orleans League home opener against Newfane.
The veteran pitching duo of junior Allison Bensley and sophomore Emily Kams head Medina’s veteran contingent which also includes seniors Hallie Seaman (outfield), Amanda McCauley (infiedl/outfield), Bailey Allen (outfield) and Emma Ambrose (outfield).
The Mustangs lineup also includes seniors Nicole Blount (infield) and Brittany Schultz (infield); juniors Madison Wickham (outfield), Abigail Smith (catcher), Haylee Cogovan (infield), Davina Birch (infield/outfield), and Courtney Bailey (infield) along with freshmen Alisha Scroger (infield) and Destiny Satkowski (infield).
“We’re very young but we’ve got a lot of talent with some good pitching,” said Cleaveland who takes over the helm from Mark Kruzynski.
