Lyndonville edges past Kendall with 7th inning uprising; Holley romps

Lyndonville scored twice in the top of the seventh inning to trim host Kendall 3-1 this afternoon in a rainy, windy Genesee Region League baseball game.

Winning pitcher Jacob Hoffee and Ty Hrovat both banged out RBI singles in the seventh to provide the margin of victory for Lyndonville which improves to 6-3 in the league and 9-4 overall. An error and a single by Trevor Bentley set up the threat.

Lyndonville’s only other run came in the third inning on a double by Hoffee.

Kendall had grabbed a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning on a single by Colton Breslawski who had two hits on the day. However, the Eagles left the bases loaded.

Hoffee went the distance on the mound for theTigers allowing only 2 hits and striking out 5.

Kendall, which slips to 2-6, stranded a runner at third in the sixth inning as Hoffee registered a clutch strikeout. The Eagles also got the leadoff hitter aboard in the sernth on a single by Breslawski but could not capitalize as two infield ground outs and a strikeout ended the threat and the game.

Holley 9, Elba/Byron-Bergen 0

Jon Bower hurled a 2 hit shutout with 15 strikeouts to lead Holley to a 9-0 victory over Elba/Byron-Bergen in another G-R contest.

Holley, which improves to 8-1 in the league and 10-2 overall, scored 4 quick runs in the first inning on singles by Bower, Josh Porter, Joe DeFelice and Lucas Silvis.

The Hawks tacked on 4 more in the second inning highlighted by a two-run double by Justin Parker.
