Hickory Ridge leagues roundup
It was quiet on the golf scene this week at Hickory Ridge as no tournaments, scrambles or specials were conducted by the golf association or leagues.
For the Tuesday Ladies Night Out League Deb Wood was once again the low gross with a 34. Melissa (Mo) Cotter shot a remarkable 37 to take second. Cotter’s round resulted in a low net of 28 while Margie Page carded a net 34. Cotter had two birdies while Wood, Vicki Brawnand Diane Able.
The Peter Sullivan Sr. League saw some low 18 hole scores last Thursday morning. It’s going to make an interesting championship later in the year. The league championship is a two week event handicap score so anyone, even the 90+ players have a shot at it.
This week Gene Ashe came in with a 72 gross and Dan Morphet had a 64 for low net. Ashe led with three birdies while Morphet had two and John True one. True was closest second shot on Number 5 at 8 feet four inches. Elwyn Corser took closest to the pin on number 3 with a distance of 22 feet 10 inches.
The Mens Traveling League on Thursday night reported low scores this week. Tom Ritchie had a low gross of 38. Three golfers tied for low net 29. They were Randy Van Houten, James Westphal and Scooter Burgess. Birdies were by Ritchie and Todd Draper. The team of Denniston and Draper still lead the league with 106 points. In second place is the team of Molinari and Soria with 98 points. Third place is held down by the Millers with 82 points.
