Local matmen earn G-R All-Star honors
Five Lyndonville and two Holley wrestlers have earned Genesee Region All-Star honors.
Lyndonville s represented on the All-Star squad by seniors Tony Recco (120), Chris McDonald (138) and Devon Joy (160) along with junior Tom Follman (152) and sophomore Jeff Gress Jr. (106).
In addition, Tigers Coach Jeff Gress earned G-R Coach of the Year honors.
Holley has placed the senior duo of Martin Beadle (145) and Lucas Silvis (220) on the G-R All-Star team.
Recco won both Class B and Section V titles and placed sixth at the state championships finishing with a 48-5 record.
Gress also qualified for the state championships after winning a Class B title and placing second at the Section V championship compiling a 46-6 record.
Joy ,who went 40-9, won a Class B title and placed sixth at the Section V championships.
Follman likewise won a Class B title and placed sixth at the Section V championships compiling a 37-12 record.
McDonald, who went 40-10 on the season, won a Class B title and placed fifth at the Section V championships.
Beadle, a four-time G-R All-Star, placed second at the Class BB tournament and third at the Section V championships finishing with a 43-2 record and a career mark of 193-51.
Silvis, who likewise placed second at Class BB and third at the Section V championships, went 38-4 on the season to finish with a career record of 109-27.
