Banes and White Birch score softball wins

Banes outlasted Polers Pub 10-9 in 8 innings and White Birch downed Jr. Wilson 1 14-7 in Medina Women’s Softball League action Monday evening..

Banes 10, Polers Pub 9 (8)
Polers scored 3 runs in the top of the eighth to take a 9-6 lead on a double by Schmitt a single by Scholes and a triple by Jen Merle.

However, Banes answered with 4 runs in the home half of the frame on 4 walks, and a pair of errors to claim the narrow win.

Banes had jumped out to an early 6-0 lead sparked by a 5 runs first inning on singles by Connie Heschke, Jami Chatt, Kathy Allen, Amy Lavender, Jen Masse, Patti Page and a double by Robin Blaun.

Polers though battled back to knot the contest at 6-6 by scoring one in the third on a single by Kelly Jo Pritchard, two in the sixth on singles by Price and Halle Deuil and a double by Schmitt and three in the seventh on a triple by Alisha Foss and hits by Ward and Amy Jessmer.

On the evening, Connie Heschke had 4 hits and Jen Masse and Morgan Allis 3 each for Banes.

White Birch 14, Jr Wilson 1 7

The White Birch offense included 3 hits by Jenahlee Riemer, 2 each by Maddy Gardepe, Ella Lewis, Alecia Hinkson, Mackenzie Muck, Brynn Howell and Dana Siffringer along with a double by Maddy Boyle and a single by Aubrey Lewis.

For Jr. Wilson 1, Stormi Kruger had a double and Sara Flansburg, Jodi Zacher and Butchie Stockwell singles.
