Kendall cagers trim Lyndonville

Turning back a fourth quarter challenge, Kendall edged past host Lyndonville 65-58 this evening in a Genesee Region League boys basketball game.

Will Condo scored 23 and Mookie Nauden 15 to lead the way for Kendall which improves to 8-3 in the league and 10-5 overall. Jacob Ramsdell added 8. Evan Gaesser 7, Nick Manners 6, Colton Breslawski 4 and Brandon Miller 2 for the Eagles.

Eric Neace scored a game high 26 points for Lyndonville which slips to 4-7 and 5-9. Nick Hinkson added 9. AJ Buckland and Corey Hydock 4 each, Eddie Schildt 3 and Trevor Bentley 2 for the Tigers.

Kendall jumped out to a 20-14 first quarter lead as Condo scored 10 and Ramsdell 8 in the early going.

Schoolcraft tallied 6 and Neace and Hydock 4 each in the opening quarter to keep Lyndonville close.

The Eagles maintained a 36-25 lead at the half as Nauden and Manners both netted 6 in the second period.

Lyndonville pulled back to within 6 at 40-34 midway through the third period after tallies by Buckland, Neace and Hinkson.

However, Kendall answered back with a 9-0 run to close the period and move back out to a 15 point, 49-34, advantage at the three-quarter mark.

A jumper by Nauden an a layup by Miller ignited that spurt which also included three free throws by Condo and a layup by Breslawski.

Lyndonville though again came battling back down the stretch.

Neace scored 11 to lead the Tigers big 24 point fourth quarter surge which also included 5 by Hinkson.

Lyndonville rallied back to within 5 twice in the final minute, first at 61-56 after a pair of layups by Neace, and again at 63-58 after a layup by Schoolcraft but the Tigers could get no closer.

Gaeser had three jumpers early in the period for Kendall which then got a layup by Nauden and three clutch free throws by Condo in the final minute to help put a lock on the victory.

Holley 39, Pembroke 29

Holley used a 15-6 fourth quarter scoring edge to key the 39-29 victory over Pembroke.

Hunter DeFelice had a three and a three-point play to lead the way down the stretch for Holley which held a slender 24-23 lead at the three-quarter mark.

Josh Porter had 14 points and 7 rebounds and Joey DeFelcie 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for Holley which is now 5-10 overall.

The contest was tied 17-17 at the half.
