Holley booters trim Byron-Bergen

A late goal earned Holley a 2-1 victory over visiting Byron-Bergen this evening in a Genesee Region League boys soccer game.

Gabe Mendoza snapped a 1-1 deadlock by scoring with just three minutes remaining to earn Holley the victory.

Mendoza also scored Holley’s first goal just 8 minutes into the opening half.

Byron-Bergen rallied back into a 1-1 tie by scoring with 6:11 remaining in the second half but Holley quickly answered right back with what proved to be the game winning goal by Mendoza.

Holley improves to 4-2 in the league and 7-3 overall.

The Hawks next visit Roy-Hart at 6:30 p.m. Monday in a non league game.

In another G-R contest, Wheatland-Chili scored twice in the final 20 minutes to defeat Kendall 2-0.

Kendall next hosts Albion at 6 p.m. Saturday in a non league game.

The loss drops Kendall to 4-2, 6-4.
