Roy-Hart sweeps Barker in N-O track; Raiders down Rams in tennis
Roy-Hart scored a sweep over Barker in Niagara-Orleans League track and field competition this afternoon as the Rams won the boys’ meet 73-67 and the girls’ 91-50.
Jack Johnson was a double winner in the 110 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles and Jayden Swygert in the 100 and High Jump for the Roy-Hart boys squad which improves to 2-1.
Mason Allee Castro was a triple winner in the 800, 1600 and 3200 and JP Mason in the Pole Vault, Long Jump and Triple Jump for Barker.
The Roy-Hart girls, which also improve to 2-1, were led by triple winner Julia Miles (100 Hurdles, 400 Hurdles, High Jump) and double winner Nadia White (400, Triple Jump).
Emma Evans won the 1500 and 3000 for Barker.
Wilson and Newfane split
Rivals Wilson and Newfane split in the other N-O meet. The Lakemen won the boys’ meet 73-68 and the Panthers took the girls’ competition 84 1/2-56 1/2.
Jayden Ruble was a double winner for the Wilson boys in the 1600 and 3200.
Ben Dickinson was a quadruple winner for Newfane in the High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump and 400.
In the girls meet for Newfane Kylie Bowman won the 1500 and 3000, DeBiase the Long Jump and 100 and Broeker the Shotput and Discus.
Maddy Schultz took both the 100 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles and Addison Elia the 200 and 400 for Wilson.
N-O Tennis
Barker 4, Roy-Hart 1 /12
Sweeping the three singles matches, Barker went on to post a 4-1 1/2 win over Roy-Hart in a Niagara-Orleans League tennis match this afternoon.
Matt Ryan, Daniel Goodwin and Levi Hauser scored the singles wins as Barker improves to 6-4 in N-O action.
The Raiders also got a win from the first doubles team of Lucas DerSarkissian – Tommy Harris.
Roy-Hart got doubles wins from the teams of Joshua Kennedy – Garrett Glyshaw and Ella Martillotta – Emily Livergood.
N-O Baseball
Akron 2, Wilson 1
Akron scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to nip Wilson 2-1 in a key Niagara-Orleans League baseball game this afternoon on the turf at Newfane.
A suicide squeeze bunt by Ryan Owen scored Dawson Stone with the winning run for the Tigers. Stone had reached on a single and advanced to third on sacrifice bunts by Vinny Consiglio and Jack Julicher.
Akron improves to 5-1 and moves into first place by a half game over idle Medina (4-1) as Wilson slips to 3-2 and into fourth place behind 5-2 Roy-Hart.
In a Genesee Region League game Byron-Bergen blanked Lyndonville 10-0.
