Holley nipped by Perry in non league opener

Holley dropped a narrow 4-2 decision to visiting Perry in the Hawks non league season opening baseball game this afternoon.

Perry claimed the win by scoring twice in the top of the seventh inning on two walks, a single and a double to snap a 2-2 deadlock.

Holley had tied the game in the fifth inning on a two-run single by Seth Janus which followed a single by Eli Lang and an error.

Miles Lammes also had a hit on the day for the Hawks.

Holley starting pitcher Ryan Dunn struck out 7 in five innings of work on the mound.

Holley next visits Albion at 4:45 p.m. Monday for another non league contest.
