Barker Central School is pleased to announce that Gabriella Clare will continue her field hockey career at SUNY Geneseo this fall. Sh is undecided on her major.

Clare’s field hockey highlights include a spectacular senior year where she was named 1st Team Niagara-Orleans All-League, 1st Team All-Western New York, and she was selected to the All-State team.

Clare has been a key member of 4 league, 5 section, and 3 Far West Regional championship field hockey team. The Honorable Mention All-Western New York Scholar-Athlete is also a stand out track and field athlete for the Barker Lady Raiders.

“Gabby has contributed to our program since she started playing in 7th grade and has been a factor in some of the most memorable goals Barker has scored the past two seasons,” said Barker Field Hockey Coach Jeff Costello. “Her speed and strength have helped make her a dynamic player and a threat in the league, section and beyond. Gabby’s personality and commitment to skill development and winning are welcomed by both her coaches and her teammates. Her acceptance to Geneseo is a great academic start for her after Barker. We look forward to Gabby’s shining moments in the Knights’ field hockey program and her contributions to the SUNY Geneseo campus.”

“We’re very excited about Gabriella joining the SUNY Geneseo field hockey family this fall,” said Geneseo Field Hockey Coach Jess Seren. “Based on her high school successes on the field and in the classroom at Barker, we feel she has great potential to come in and make a significant impact not only within our program, but across campus and in the surrounding community. The same intensity she displays out on the field will no doubt help her excel both as a student and athlete here at Geneseo.”
